In pursuance of its mission to raise standards through Development and Supportive Enforcement of Technical, Quality and Ethical Standards, the ITC-SA is represented on all the South African Bureau of Standards (SANS) Committees responsible for the drafting of specifications and National Standards relating to timber roof structures.
The ITC was influential in creating SANS 10243, the Standard for the Manufacture and Erection of Timber Trusses. |
The ITC-SA constantly evaluates the achievements and skills of members and enhances the industry through the dissemination of industry related information, which assists the members and non-members to uphold standards.
The ITC-SA has produced two Erectors Handbooks relevant to bracing and conection details for Timber Roof Structures. These handbooks are available for download , from the Downloads page. Hard copies of Volume 1 is sold at R20.00 excluding VAT. Volume 2 is sold at R200.00 excluding VAT, excluding postage. Both of these volumes are available from the ITC-SA head office.
The ITC-SA also produced a DVD for the purpose of training and improving the skills and knowledge of Timber Roof Erectors. |
